Kern Delaeno Bio/Resume
Mr. Kern Delaeno comes from a well-respected Tallfelllow family in the west. Growing up around an interesting mix of humans, halflings, and elves, he has developed many of the skills and abilities natural to each – including adaptability, agility, keen senses, and loyalty. He has an honest and friendly face; while a man of some financial means, he is not arrogant; while dressed stylishly, he is not dressed lavishly or outlandishly; and while his gear and garb looks ready for the worst, he is quite comfortable. The spectacles he often wears grant an additional air of thoughfulness.
Kern presents a demeanor both pleasant and trustworthy that is particularly amenable to good race relations. For sooth, many Delaenos before him have faithfully served those of the political leadership, or have even held elective office themselves. The most famous of these is his great-great-grandfather Farrel – a favorite counsel and advisor (and operative more often than not) to two successive kings during his storied life.
Mr. Delaeno epitomizes the spirit of adventure… always first to volunteer for the next important mission – as long as it is neither vile nor cloying. To this end he has spent his lifetime improving skills critical for survival, whether in the dungeon, the tundra, or the city. At the same time, Kern is fiercely loyal to those who have earned it or to those who deserve it. Whether it is reconnaissance, subterfuge, or infiltration, he is glad to help.
At present, Kern has traveled east to Cambria for several reasons. Although the desire to visit new lands is chief among them, he also has a few items of business to pursue – partly for his guild, partly for his family, partly for other reasons.
One of these is to investigate his former associate Naetahl'ir, who was also working toward Guild affiliation before their paths split. More loyal than and not nearly as hot-headed as Naetahl’ir, Kern and the Guild were rather… ah… disappointed to learn of his treachery against his companions. This egregious display of thievery and abandonment – if left unrequited – threatens to bring disgrace to the Guild.
Kern is a slippery rogue with very fast hands - it should not take long to find Naet so that the goods can be returned to the Party of the Fisted. Though taller than their Lightfoot cousins, Tallfellows only grow to around four feet tall. However, one ought not underestimate those with smaller stature. For those who severely cross him, the last thing they see is a pair of barbed daggers flashing out of the shadows. It is up to Naetahl’ir at this point…
The name Kern Delaeno is halfling for "the little dark one.”
